Remember that special moment when India won the world cup in 2011 and in 2003 when India was defeated by Australia in the final match; I guess those were the most emotional moments for a cricket lover in India.

After Cricket, Soccer is the sport which people find more interesting to watch in India. In soccer, India is not so good like in cricket. India never is able to take part in FIFA World Cup.

But from last 2 years, Indian soccer team is doing extremely well and has secured 96th rank in July 2017 after winning 13 matches consistently out of 15 & its the highest rank in last 2 decades. Hockey:

Hockey is the national sport of India but its not the game that people love most. Its the third most popular game in India. India is considered to be one of the strongest team in hockey. In Olympics and world cup, India always played well. Yet hockey didnt get the place which it deserves because of lower popularity as compared to cricket and soccer.

North part of India has a serious contribution in hockey because most of the young talents are coming from northern states. Thanks to the Punjab who gave us players like Sardar Singh, Manpreet Singh, and Akashdeep Singh who are currently playing in the national team.

Tennis:

Because of some good players like Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna, Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes Tennis is also an inspiring sport for Indians. These four are youth icons and inspiring Indian youth to play this game from more than a decade or so.

When we talk about performance on the international level, on single events, India didn’t meet the expectations but performed really well in double and mix double events.
